The Enrichment Curriculum
Experience gained through our enrichment programme is designed to enable you to develop the necessary range of skills and knowledge to prepare you for life after the sixth form.
The enrichment curriculum includes the following:
Critical Thinking
- All students study this course which is concerned mainly with the credibility of evidence. As such it is excellent preparation for the `new tests' being introduced by many universities as well as enabling you to become a discerning individual. A large proportion of our students choose to sit an AS in this subject in Year 12.
Community Service
- See section 'Sixth Form Life' for reference to the many activities undertaken by our students. There is the option to have community service accredited by Millennium Volunteers.
Personal, Social and Health Education
- This includes preparation for independent living, university and employment.
Sporting Activities
- These include an opportunity to partake in a range of sports as well as a ski trip abroad.
Work Experience
- All of our students have a one week work experience placement following the May/June AS exams in year 12. Those studying languages have additional work experience abroad.
Young Enterprise
- This is for young entrepreneurs who want an insight into how businesses are run.
